Grammy and Scarlett
at a armed forces museum in Punta Gorda..the docent insisted Elizabeth dress up and make Luke think she had enlisted...I don't think she fooled him. They did have some interesting items there.
Happy Scarlett in her car seat..the trip was about 14 hrs with a few stops.
we love the birds
this is how Vince baby sits (haha)
Scarlett's first time at the Gulf Coast
Swimming ( yeah, Left to right..Vin, Me, Elizabeth, Sharon and Pete)
Kure Beach Pier ( they had a pigeon nest with eggs under the decking)
I guess I should have worked on my hair..kind of a windy day
Pensive Pat, we were hungry and really...there isn't much to eat in CB.
Jana with her grandpa
Michelle and Jana having a giggle.
June: Vince and I took the girls ( 4..Michelle, Angela, Elizabeth and Scarlett) on a trip to Florida. Vince's brother, wife and youngest daughter were going to visit Grammy and Grandpa,so we decided it would be nice to meet up. This was Scarlett's first big trip...she was fantastic! It was special to watch Vince's parents meet their great granddaughter, celebrate Father's day and Vince's dad's birthday. ( Of course, that meant we missed Jordan on his...) It is amazing how alike Pete's daughter is like our youngest. She and Michelle had a lot of similarities. So,that was cool. It was a great trip until the last night, Elizabeth came down with what I think was Norovirus, so after a night of vomitting and diarrhea, she dragged herself to the car to head back. Half way through, we realized that Vince had it too. So, in SC we switched drivers, and he was whipped. Two things I don't like to drive in esp. hard driving rain (check) and last bit home in the dark (check)! We got home safely and have great memories. Yay!
I wish I had more, but after we went to Boca Grande...my camera broke. We came home, Vince drilled a hole in the bottom and we turn the shutter motor gear with a paper clip.Probably won't be much longer that it will be done for good. :(
In the beginning of July, Vince's other brother Mike, stopped in Carolina Beach for a few days. We went down for a day. Patrick caught up with us. Luke had just gotten home the previous week and they decided to stay in Jacksonville. Kathy, Mike's wife, and I have a funny relationship. She is pretty goofy and we always pick up where we left off. ( Pete's wife, Sharon, the same thing) They had their granddaughter (eldest son's) with them. They had also just visited Mike and Vince's parents, so they got to meet both of their great granddaughters this summer. Jana is 6 and really likes Bowtie pasta, swimming and playing in the sand. She was particularly drawn to Michelle, but pretty quiet most of the time. She was tired from all their travels and swimming at a lot of beaches up the coast. (and almost 2 weeks from Mommy)
